Job Summary:

The Trade Specialist – Trade Distributor is responsible for developing and managing a dedicated distribution network that focuses on small to mid-sized commercial projects, industrial sites, housing societies, and institutional construction. The role requires strong engagement with contractors, site engineers, consultants, and procurement teams to create product pull-through and ensure project fulfillment via appointed distributors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trade Distributor Development (Project)

  • Identify and onboard new project-focused distributors in key industrial and developing zones.
  • Ensure distributors are technically trained, commercially aligned, and able to service small to medium project sites efficiently.
  • Set distributor sales targets and KPIs aligned with market potential.

2. Contractor, Consultant & Industrial Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, consultants, and housing society project managers.
  • Drive product approvals, application trials, and specification entries into small commercial or industrial projects.
  • Regularly visit project sites and provide support with selection, application guidance, and issue resolution.

3. Solution Selling & Product Positioning

  • Promote core Sika product categories (e.g., waterproofing, concrete repair, tile adhesives, grouts, sealants, flooring) tailored to small project needs.
  • Conduct demos, site trials, and technical support visits in coordination with the distributor or applicator network.
  • Ensure correct product positioning according to the project scale, technical requirement, and commercial viability.

4. Channel Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between the project site and the distribution partner, ensuring timely delivery, application support, and after-sales service.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (supply chain, marketing, technical) to support execution and channel loyalty.
  • Monitor stock levels and movement within the distributor to avoid shortages or overstocking.

5. Market Intelligence & Expansion Planning

  • Track upcoming small-scale projects and industrial construction trends in the region.
  • Provide monthly reports on project conversions, trade performance, and lead status.
  • Analyze competitor movement and suggest initiatives to strengthen territory presence.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • MBA in Sales/Marketing is a plus
  • 5–10 years of experience in B2B construction sales, contractor engagement, or Trade development
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction cycles, project timelines, and field application requirements
